Earlier I showed you lots of exclusive photos and shared a few brief moments I spent with those lovely McFly boys backstage at T4 On The Beach. I also saw a few of the cast from the fab TV show Skins, who played a DJ set in a sponsored tent before just hanging out backstage and enjoying the festivities. I was also lucky enough to have a chat with the ridiculously nice Joe Dempsie who was always my favourite in the series as pill-popping Chris. Joe was carrying two drinks back from the VIP bar and joked that he thought he would look bad in the photos for ferrying two cups around backstage, so on that note I'll say that one was for a friend!
I told him that I loved the series and that we had a whole lot of fans of the show reading the site – he was really chuffed and said he was so grateful people watched and enjoyed Skins. The third series is on its way now and I told him it would be strange to watch and not see him and the rest of the cast we'd got to know, he seemed genuinely excited about the new series though and grinned, saying "Yeah, my mate's in it" when I asked him about Jack O'Connell from This Is England being part of the new cast.
Joe also told me about his new movie The Damned United, on which he's working with Jim Broadbent and Timothy Spall. It's a film about Brian Clough's forty-four day reign as coach at Leeds United and he's playing footballer Duncan McKenzie. Joe said that working with such amazing actors like Jim has meant it has really been a "watch and learn experience" for him, and he was so excited about the opportunity. He laughed as he told me that as it's set a few decades ago we'll get to see him looking a little silly and wearing some interesting wigs. I can honestly say Joe was the loveliest celeb I met backstage on Sunday, he was genuinely nice and said he hoped we could sit down for a longer chat with him soon, so watch this space!

I spied Dev Patel (Anwar) and Aimee Ffion-Edwards (Sketch) laughing their heads off as they headed towards the stage area. Aimee was pulling him around and laughing at his mock-outraged reactions. Having hung out with Tom Fletcher from McFly earlier in the day, I spotted Nicholas a little later inside the backstage VIP area where he was chatting to some friends, to the slight annoyance of Larissa who was shouting at him to come and see Ne-Yo's performance from the VIP bar. In the end she went off with some others and he followed a couple of minutes later. A little while later a flustered production assistant ran over and asked if I'd seen Nick as they were asking for him in the plush interview room that was set up on scaffolding above the crowd, he was found just in time to film the link!
Kaya Scodelario (Effy) was around too, and I'm sure there were some more of the Skins gang who kept an even lower profile than those I saw. Although most of the cast didn't visit the press tent, Nick did briefly and although he looked a little tired, he was super-professional and amiable. I can't wait to see what they all do next...
i love skins!! such a good show. better than anything on american television for sure!
it will be really weird not watching the original cast next season but there is only so much that can do with those characters, you know?
