Stars Celebrate And Spar At The GQ Awards

After the glamorous arrivals it was time to get down to the nitty gritty of the GQ Men Of The Year Awards and give out the gongs. There were some fab photo opportunities as the stars collided – Dave Grohl and Bobby Gillespie looked like twins with their long hair, Josh Brolin got a kiss on the cheek from Thandie Newton, and a bewildered-looking Boris Johnson received his award from Trinny and Susannah. My favourite, James Corden, received his breakthrough award from Gavin and Stacey co-writer Ruth Jones, and Alfie Allen and Jaime Winstone had their engagement revealed by Alfie's sister Lily who introduced Jamie as "my future sister-in-law". Mysteriously Alfie just said "Well, now you know" in response.

Speaking of Lily, she and Elton John had a bit of a spar at the ceremony, as Lily introduced "the most important part of the night", Elton apparently interjected "What? Are you going to have another drink?" Lily then responded "F*** off Elton, I'm 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of me!" He retorted, "I could still snort you under the table", and Lily replied "F*** off. I don't know what you're talking about." Wow.

Noel And Amy Show For Camden Cause

You might remember that Camden pub and occasional celeb hangout The Hawley Arms was gutted by fire earlier this year? Well, last night Noel Fielding hosted a fundraiser for the beloved venue and some other celebs showed up to show their support. Amy Winehouse also spent a little time at Dingwalls, where the event was held, wearing a string vest and showing off the bra collection she seems oh-so-proud of. Music was provided by Johnny Borrell, Helsinki and a DJ, along with Lois Winstone's band This Year's Model. Noel waxed lyrical with memories of the pub, saying:

"We used to have a garden up the top and I used to run across the ledge in my Chelsea boots. The Ledge of Doom, I called it. They fenced it off because they said: 'You will die and that won't be good publicity.' ... I've had loads of good times there... I had a gun with sticker darts and we were trying to shoot guavas and mangoes off people's heads. It started off as a bit of fun. Before we knew what was happening, there were 40 people involved, there was a league system going, it was amazing."

Ah, Noel – if only the reality was as fun as what goes on inside your entertaining mind!

Big Chill Boasts The Boosh Band, Beth, Lykke Li and Leonard

This weekend Eastnor played host to The Big Chill festival in Herefordshire. Noel Fielding, Julian Barratt and The Mighty Boosh band were among the performers, which was rather fitting as it was a Big Chill event where the band made their debut in June. The boys proved they're no regular band (just like they did at their very own festival last month) with their TV characters coming to life through costumes, dances and of course the songs. Also performing were some more of my fave acts; Lykke Li, Camille, Beth Orton and living legend Leonard Cohen. Looks like an amazing weekend!

Russell Brand Is a Trend Setting Goth Detective

Russell Brand and Noel Fielding took to the stage as a double act yesterday evening, reprising their Goth Detectives team for a charity gig at the Lyceum Theatre. Although Russell covered up with sunnies when he left Soho House, we got a glimpse at his eyes in all their smudged guyliner glory when he joined pal Noel in a taxi after their peformance. Both "guyliner" — which is thicker than normal eyeliner to make it easier for men to grip — and "manscara" will appear on shelves in Superdrug this week, with the company's director of trading highlighting Russell and Robbie Williams as famous masculine men who have set the trend. My girl Bella UK's got the lowdown.

Although Russell has apologised to police — following that joke he made recently in Northampton, where he told police he'd spotted a wanted sex attacker — the pretend detective has said he won't rule out making hoax calls on stage again. Fortunately the mischief maker has got lots of projects coming up to keep him out of trouble, reprising his character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, playing a con man in a film being produced by Adam Sandler, and of course hosting the MTV VMAs. Boosh-Fest Brings Bounty Of Music & Laughs

Those wonderful men of The Mighty Boosh headlined their own festival in Kent at the weekend, with musical guests and comedic set-pieces that caused glee among the Boosh-ily dressed fans. Noel Fielding took to the pirate galleon stage, towing an amusingly grumpy Julian Barratt behind him in a dinghy, before singing classics from the TV show such as "Eels", "We Are The Mutant Freaks" and "Bouncy Bouncy" – magic! Rich Fulcher dressed in some super-scary get-ups, and I was happy with the appearance of my favourite character – The Moon – who did a tribute to Jay-Z with his very own version of "99 Problems"!

Almost-identical twins Har Mar Superstar and Bob Fossil (Fulcher) had a dance off in identical blue safari suits. Amiable Noel had his ladies there – his girlfriend Dee Plume played with Robots In Disguise, and his BFF Alison Mosshart performed with The Kills. All in all it looks like it was a unique occasion, and Vince's hero Gary Numan also joined the lineup for some classic tunes! Did you go? And did you love it?

Noel Feeds Before His Festival and Film

Noel Fielding never fails to have fun with any possible photo opportunity (well, perhaps barring one) – whether he's dressed as a cowboy or a clown, or has props like that memorable hairdryer. Good times. Last night the hairdryer was replaced with a beer and some twiglets, and he was wearing his glitterball bodysuit on the bottom half of his body with a blazer-covered top half. What is it with unmatching top and bottom halves today – first Justin Timberlake and now Noel?

His mind must be elsewhere as The Mighty Boosh festival takes place on July 5, leading some to speculate that the lunatics are in charge... meanwhile Noel and his Mighty Boosh costars have signed on for Bunny And The Bull – a comedy road movie set entirely in a flat. Can't wait!

Chelsy, Dave And Noel Party With... Fergie?

An eccentric mix of celebs turned up to the opening Whisky Mist at Zeta in Mayfair this week, including the nicest man in rock Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters bandmate Taylor Hawkins following their live collaboration with members of Led Zeppelin at the weekend. Sarah Ferguson aka Fergie also attended the party, as well as potential Royal Chelsy Davy, best known as Prince Harry's other half.

Noel Fielding was drawing attention again in a bright red shirt and the most hardcore of the Backstreet Boys – AJ McLean – also stopped by after finishing his cigarette outside. What a great random mix of celebs!

Noel Fielding was looking rather understated as he left the Groucho last night, wearing an amusing Sandals tee. There wasn't even an inch of sparkle or spangle on him, in fact the red pixie boots he constantly wears were really the most eccentric thing about his look. Now that's shocking! Perhaps he's keeping a low profile, as it seems he might be in a little trouble with his mate Johnny Borrell after the meaning behind Borrell's 'torpedo' nickname was revealed... turns out it's not quite what Johnny thought it meant. Eek.

More Mayhem at Music Industry Soccer Six

A bevy of celebrity boys spent the bank holiday on a football pitch in Reading, which can only mean one thing — the madness that is Soccer Six. Just-turned-35 Noel Fielding, Skins' Nicholas Hoult, The Hoosiers, Dirty Sanchez's Pritchard and Dainton, Kenzie, Bradley from S Club and Big Brother's Mikey were just some of the famous faces who took part in the Music Industry Soccer Six tournament at Madejski Stadium.

McFly's Harry and Danny, who appeared on Gordon Ramsay's F Word last night, got involved again having played in the first leg of the tournament at Millwall the weekend before (alongside Pete Doherty) but unfortunately the boys lost to The Sun's team in the final. Although Noel Fielding's shirt was stolen it sounds like the day was more refined that the previous weekend's tournament, which culminated in Pete Doherty relieving his bladder in a trophy. Millwall have since said Pete is welcome back to The Den any time. You wouldn't catch those nice McFly boys doing such a thing — what with Harry's kissy-kissy in the stands I'd say they're busy making love, not urine.

Birthday Boy Noel Fielding Holidays in Morocco

We're singing Happy Birthday to Noel Fielding, who turns 35 today and enjoyed a pre-birthday holiday in Morocco last week with his on-off girlfriend Dee Plume from Robots In Disguise. We've spotted Noel enjoying nights out with Courtney Love and with The Kills' Alison Mosshart, and apparently Alison and Dee both want to be with Noel as he celebrates his birthday tonight. Uh-oh. At least Noel can rest easy that The Mighty Boosh Festival will be less of a worry, as Gary Numan, White Denim, Polar Bear and The Charlatans are booked to play the music festival on 5 July, with Noel and Julian Barratt headlining. There are also rumours that Noel and Julian are looking to work on material with the Mighty Boosh Band for a possible debut album. Siting.

LG TV Launch Brings Out London Ladies' Prints

The arrivals room at the LG launch party for the Scarlet TV Series was full of London ladies in an array of prints, from Sophie Ellis-Bextor's circles and Holly Willoughby's checks to Alesha Dixon's printed t shirt, which said "I Stole Someone's Thunder". Heh. Henry Holland also spread the print-love at One Marylebone Road last night, and Noel Fielding showed off his trademark crazy antics. Miquita Oliver wearing jeans sums up how it was all a bit more laid-back than LG's glamourous launch party in the States earlier in the week (where Kelly Brook dazzled in citrus brights), but then a rainy London night doesn't really inspire celebs to bare their flesh. Oh for a bit of LA sun.

Kate, Noel And The Kills At The Koko

Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart aka The Kills played live at London's Koko last night, and their fans included some familiar faces. Kate Moss, Noel Fielding and Sadie Frost turned up to see the show, and they piled out of the back door with the band at the end of the gig. Check out Sadie Frost copying Noel Fielding's choice of red pointy boots as footwear – that made me giggle!

Alison left with new BFF Noel, and Kate joined Jamie at the Camden venue after her trip to see Linda McCartney's photography – I'm so jealous – that totally sounds like a fun evening to me!

Cowboy Noel Is Shot... And Kills

We're used to regularly seeing The Kills member Jamie Hince out with Kate Moss, but it seems his bandmate Alison "VV" Mosshart has found another celebrity friend to hang out with: Noel Fielding. The colourfully clad twosome hit the town last night after attending "Nobby Clark Shoots Noel Fielding" – a collaborative exhibition at Gallery Maison which consists of photographs and paintings by Nobby and Noel.

Alison and Noel seemed quite merry after their epic night at the Groucho and Bungalow 8 – no doubt there'll be a couple of sore heads this morning...
