The corporation is adding their two main channels to the ones already available, which include News 24, BBC Three and BBC Four. Is John Sergeant Right To Leave Strictly Come Dancing?

John Sergeant has quit Strictly Come Dancing, saying that he's worried he may win the competition, despite not having the abilities of the other contestants. He's received constant criticism from the judges, but the love of the great British public has kept him completely safe from being voted off the show. He'll return on Saturday's show for a "farewell dance". John said:

"The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me that would be a joke too far. I am sorry to say I have decided to leave Strictly Come Dancing. It was always my intention to have fun on the show and I was hoping to stay in as long as possible."

It finally happened: Daniel Evans was voted off The X Factor on Saturday night. Following Laura White's controversial exit the week before, nothing would have surprised me this weekend. The final seven contestants, including poorly Diana, performed Best of British songs.Daniel had to sing off against Rachel, and Simon, Louis and Cheryl all saved Rachel. Dannii said she would have taken it to deadlock if necessary, as she couldn't choose between her two acts.In the results show Leona Lewis performed her version of Snow Patrol's "Run" perfectly, and Dermot announced Take That will be performing on the programme next week, woop!I want to know your thoughts, so tell me: did the right act leave this week?© ITV Plc

The live US sketch show Saturday Night Live constantly gets people talking in America, and the videos often make their way around the world via the internet. Last night Paul Rudd guest-hosted the show, with appearances from Beyonce and a lycra-clad Justin Timberlake — check out this clip!

Do Ya Like McFly's 2008 Children In Need Single?

Friday is Children In Need night, and McFly have recorded the official double A-side single "Do Ya/ Stay With Me" for the charity. The boys will appear on the show performing both tracks, opening the show at 7pm with a live performance of "Stay With Me" and then flying by helicopter at their own expense from London to Birmingham to continue their Radio:ACTIVE UK tour. They'll then fly back to London with a BBC film crew in tow to perform "Do Ya" live in the show! Sounds kind of exhausting, right? Still, here's a performance of the song they did for MTV, let me know what you think! I'll bring you the official video when it's released.

Well, if Austin's departure in week four was a shock, then what about Laura White's departure from The X Factor on Saturday night? Many of us were surprised about the result in our live blog.She was one of the favourites to win, but Laura was in the bottom two with Ruth, and her own mentor Cheryl Cole was the only judge to save her. Last week many musicians came together to give Universal music boss Lucian Grainge a special award for his contribution to the music industry, and recently he spoke to BBC 6 about one of his own more troubled artists Amy Winehouse, saying:

"I've heard some demos, and I've heard some simple acoustic songs that she's played me in my office on acoustic guitar, and what I've heard has been sensational. I'm an optimist and I believe in her."

Amy's husband Blake was released from prison yesterday and headed straight to a rehab facility, while Amy's been at her London home. Obviously the boss of her record company wouldn't say anything to her detriment, but it got me wondering about your thoughts on her new album. Angels & Demons is the latest Dan Brown novel to be adapted for the big screen, following the film version of The Da Vinci Code, which was released all the way back in 2006.Ron Howard is back directing Tom Hanks who plays Robert Langdon, the Harvard symbologist who "works to solve a murder and prevent a terrorist act against the Vatican." Ewan McGregor also stars in the film, which opens in UK cinemas on 15 May. Since David Tennant announced he's stepping down as Doctor Who at the NTAs last week, there's been speculation about who will replace him, with James Nesbitt emerging as favourite.David has now spoken out about who could replace him, saying new mum Billie Piper could take the step from assistant to Doctor. He said:

"It's one of those parts that any actor could bring something valid to, because it can be anything and it's a sort of blank canvas everytime".

Sienna Miller stars in The Hours' new video for single "See The Light", which has premiered on their MySpace page ahead of its release date of 8 December. The Hours singer Ant Genn has explained: "It's a song about struggle and addiction and fear and darkness", and Sienna's performance certainly fits that bill, as she rubs her hands in cows' blood after being trapped in a Prada store dressed in a hospital patient's gown. The short film is codirected by Damien Hirst, whose artwork Sienna entered a pre-sale bid for just a few weeks ago. This week's disco theme didn't really suit any of the contestants on The X Factor, but it was Austin who left the competition, making it two weeks in a row that Simon has lost one of his boys. Austin was in the bottom two with Rachel, and only his own mentor Simon saved him. Scott became the third act to leave The X Factor on Saturday night, in a decision that left Louis in tears. He was in the bottom two with Daniel, and the only judge to save Scott was his own mentor, Simon.Daniel's final song saw Louis dissolve in to tears, and once the decision was made Scott cried on stage as he thanked his family and friends.It was big band night with some suitably big performances, and Rachel's performance stole the show for me.
